Briedis destroys Mann in three rounds

In the main event of the evening, IBF cruiserweight champion Mairis Briedis (28-1, 20 KOs) scored a third round TKO victory over Artur Mann (17-2, 9 KOs) at the Riga Arena in Latvia. The time was 2:59.

Mann had a good first round, but was forced to take a knee in the second round after missing a right to the head. In the third round, Mann was on the floor again after a series of missed punches, was clearly shaken, spit out a mouth guard to buy some time, but when the fight continued, was very quickly on the floor again. Mann tried to signal that one of Briedis' punches came below the belt, but the referee ended the countdown and signaled the fight stopped. In one of the last exchanges, Briedis earned a serious cut on the bridge of his nose.

Before the fight, Briedis was considered the undisputed 50-1 favourite.
