Former UFC interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje believes Islam Makhachev is undeservedly located at number five in the lightweight division.
"I'd love to see Makhachev fight someone from the top of our division. It was crazy to see a guy ranked No. 15 or No. 12 in the rankings soar to No. 5 after defeating the No. 14 fighter. I hate it when they promote fighters who don't finish their opponents and don't get the public excited," Gaethje told Helen Yee in an interview.
Recall that Makhachev will fight Dan Hooker on October 30 at UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi.
