The International Boxing Federation (IBF) has officially confirmed that the rights to the fight between Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) and George Kambosos (19-0, 1 KOs) have gone to Eddie Hearn, who submitted a $3.5 million bid in February. So Lopez will now earn $2.27 million and Kambosos will earn $1.22 million.
Both players' purses will also be boosted by $1.2 million deposit from Triller Fight Club. The American will earn $900,000 of that amount, while the Australian will earn $300,000. Triller announces that he will sue the IBF and try to get that money back.
Hearn announced that the date and location of the fight will be announced shortly. The fight is scheduled to take place before the end of this year in the United States. The IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC franchise lightweight belts will be at stake in the fight.
