"We can fight for both titles, both undisputed titles," Lopez recently told IFL TV. "And we can do it at the interim weight of 138 or even 139 pounds. I'm ready to go up a little bit, so ... He should go down one pound. Or 137 and a half. It's either that or that. If Leo Santa Cruz and Gervonta Davis could do it when they had WBA belts at 130 and 135 pounds, why can't we fight for undisputed titles at catchweight and the winner will be the undisputed champion in both weight classes?"
"Come on. It's boxing. If we have bloggers fighting and everything else, why the hell can't we do it? We're already disrespected in our sport. Why not try to do something like that. Is that wrong?" Lopez said.
