The panel of judges for Saturday's WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight title bout between Anthony Joshua (24-1, 21 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs) has been announced.
The third man in the ring will be Michael Alexander of UK. Scoring will be conducted by: Viktor Fesechko (Ukraine), Howard Foster (UK) and Steve Weisfeld (USA).
The presence of a Ukrainian as a judge is an interesting precedent, because the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) rarely takes such steps and usually appoints a local team of judges. Although there is still work to be done, as evidenced by the presence of a British referee in a three title bout involving a Brit. That is, none of the sanctioning bodies (WBA, WBO and IBF) was ever able to get a neutral referee from the BBBofC.
