Usyk Team Director Sergei Lapin responded to the question whether the Klitschko brothers helped Oleksandr Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs) in his preparations for his September 25 fight in London against WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs).

"Alexander has worked incredibly hard in training and will prove against Joshua that he is the best at everything, helped by the arrival of trainer Anatoly Lomachenko in his camp who has taken him to the next level."

"As for the advice of the Klitschko brothers, our fellow Ukrainians, we have never seen them in our camp. Alexander has his own story, and he's been writing it for a long time, since he came to the gym at a young age. He doesn't need anyone else."

"It's been over two years since Alexander moved up to heavyweight - and today he's in optimal physical and psychological condition to face Anthony Joshua. In our world you have to constantly prove your level, which Usik does over and over again when everyone doubts him."

"And we, his team and loved ones, believe in him winning for two reasons - first, because he has one of the best boxing techniques, and second, because he makes the most of his legs, which makes him such a tough opponent. Of course, Joshua is a great boxer, he has come a tough way in his career. So we wish him to prepare well and we are looking forward to seeing him in the ring," Lapin said.
