K2 Promotions CEO Alexander Krassyuk spoke about further development of the career of WBO International lightweight champion Denys Berinchyk: "We signed a contract with Denys in 2015 for five years with an extension for two more years. Of course, my task as a promoter is to make him a world champion. Because a boxer starts to earn money and bring it to the promoter only when he becomes world champion," Krassyuk said in an interview with #TheGloveShow.

"When we signed the contract, we expected him to perform at 140. He was competing in that weight class in the amateurs. And then it happened that Denis decided to move to another weight - 135. A rational decision and he was quite successful in building his career with our help, with the help of all the people around him. In the weight class he chose, there were objective circumstances at the moment, not depending on Denys, the promoter and the boxing organizations".

"Vasyl Lomachenko lost to Teofimo Lopez and gave him all his belts. Lopez then gets mandatory challenger Kambosos for the IBF title. No official challengers can be named by the time this fight takes place. Teofimo Lopez has super champion status in the WBO, accordingly he has 18, not 12 months to make a mandatory defense. And then other circumstances arise - the first time the fight was postponed, then it was moved to October, and we don't know when it will happen, or if it will happen at all. But the goals of Triller, who won the rights for this fight, are primarily commercial interest. And until that fight happens, we can't make championship plans for Denys Berinchyk."

"Denys Berinchyk is third in the ranking. He's holding on to that position because he's been defending the WBO regional title for several years. The WBO International title is the highest among regional titles. And as for negative comments about Denys's opposition, I must say that at least two of his opponents were from top-15 - Nihito Arakawa and Jose Sanchez. And now we have all the arguments for Denys to hold his position. We have very solid arguments to comply with all the regulations and rules of the World Boxing Organization for Denys to be appointed as the next challenger for the world title. For me, the question is not even on the table. It is closed. The open question is when it will happen. How the Lopez - Kambosos fight will end we don't know, our next moves will depend on that."

"We plan to have Denys fight in late November or early December this year. Again, with an opponent from the top 15, in order to consolidate his position even more, so as not to deprive him of the opportunity to be an official contender for the world title," Krassyuk said.
