Oscar Valdes (30-0, 23 KOs) won by unanimous decision over Robson Conceição (16-0, 8 KOs) in the main event of the evening in Tucson, Arizona. After twelve rounds, the judges counted 117-110 and 115-112 in favor of the Mexican, who thus defended his WBC featherweight world title.
In the beginning of the fight the Brazilian looked better, outpacing his attacks with straight punches and winning most of the rounds. In the middle of the fight Conceição slowed down and allowed the more active Valdes to get back into the game.
The other half of the fight turned out to be for Valdes. In the ninth round, the Brazilian lost one point for a punch to the back of the head. For the Mexican, it was the first defense of the title he won in February.
