Gervonta Davis (25-0, 24 KOs) vacated the super featherweight title at the request of the WBA. The WBA recently announced that it was going to cut the number of championship belts, and a week ago obliged Davis to voice plans for his next moves.
"The Tank" still holds minor titles at lightweight and super lightweight. He'll also have to leave one of those titles vacant - next Davis is likely to compete at lightweight, where he could get great fights with Teofimo Lopez (four-belt champion), Devin Haney (WBC champion) and Ryan Garcia.
Coming back to the WBA super featherweight belt: at the moment the only WBA champion in this category remains Venezuelan Roger Gutierrez (26-3-1, 20 KOs), who has a mandatory defence coming up, that is a duel with interim champion Chris Colbert (16-0, 6 KOs).
