Makhachev still wants to fight Ferguson

Top Russian UFC lightweight Islam Makhachev admitted he wanted to face Tony Ferguson more than Rafael Dos Anjos.

"If you look at my career, a fight with Tony or RDA. I'd like to fight Tony more, to be honest. Because there's just a purely sporting interest present, not because I want to prove anything to him or anyone, no. Everyone understands that he is on the decline, so some will criticize me for calling him out at this point. But I never had a chance to fight him before because I was in the top-15, but now he's already below me in the rankings, so it turns out that now I'm giving him a chance," Makhachev said.

Makhachev and Dos Anjos fight will take place on October 30 at UFC 267.
