Emelianenko: "Khabib had no serious rivals before Conor, he was competently led to the belt"

Alexander Emelianenko believes his compatriot Khabib Nurmagomedov avoided facing dangerous opponents before winning the UFC lightweight championship belt.

"Khabib had no serious opponents before McGregor. He faced serious opponents already after the Conor fight. He was just very competently led by his promoter to the championship belt," Emelianenko said in an interview with the Ushataika YouTube channel.

Nurmagomedov ended his career last October with a 29-0 record.
