Renowned Russian MMA fighter Alexander Emelianenko explained why he does not take part in bare-knuckle fights.

"Heard about bare-knuckle fights. Interesting, but such a, very traumatic sport. In fact, in the overlap, the punch comes out stronger. On bare knuckles, it's just traumatic. I break my hands after each fight: I can't shake hands, I can't even bend them - my fingers hurt a lot. When they're completely closed, you start hitting where you can hit. I'm hitting for my hands, trying to make them spread, and then start working to my chin. That's me talking about fighting in overlays. I would break my hands on my bare fists and it would take me a long time to heal. Now I have a lot of performances scheduled, but not on bare fists, because I can hurt my hands," Emelianenko Jr. said.
