The WBA announced that Gabriel Maestre (4-0, 3 KOs) has been stripped of the interim world welterweight title he won on Saturday. The Venezuelan defeated Mykal Fox (22-3, 5 KOs) by a very controversial decision in Minneapolis.

Judge Gloria Martinez Rizzo, who put the score 117-110 in Maestre's favor, was suspended indefinitely. Her suspension was originally six months, but Rizzo's social profiles, which have now been removed, were found to contain racist content, leading to the judge's longer suspension from boxing nights.

In the meantime, the WBA confirms its decision to hold the rematch. The boxers' promoters have been given 30 days to negotiate a rematch.
