Frank Warren has revealed that Joe Joyce (12-0, 11 KOs) has become the official contender for the WBO World Heavyweight Championship. This means that the winner of the fight of Anthony Joshua and Alexander Usyk will have to fight the undefeated 35-year-old Briton within a year.

Joyce's next fight will take place on Saturday in London, and will face Carlos Takam (39-5-1, 28 KOs). For the Briton, this will be the first appearance in the ring since last year's victory over Daniel Dubois.

Juggernaut at the beginning of the year was supposed to fight for the interim WBO heavyweight belt with Alexander Usyk. The Ukrainian will eventually fight Joshua on September 25, and Joyce will be waiting for the winner in this confrontation.
