Eddie Hearn has announced that Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs) will have his next fight on September 11 or 18 at a boxing event in the United States. A second date is more likely, when Saul Alvarez will return to the ring.

Previously, Whyte was going to perform in Los Angeles on August 28, where his rival was to be Jermaine Franklin. Hearn acknowledged that in the context of the September fight, negotiations are underway, including with Charles Martin and Chris Arreola.

Whyte recently earned an interim WBC heavyweight title. The full-fledged World Boxing Council champion is Tyson Fury, who has not fought since last February and is expected to return to the ring on October 9 for his third fight against Deontay Wilder.

It has not yet been officially confirmed who Alvarez will cross gloves with in September. Canelo's team is in talks with Caleb Plant for a super middleweight title unification fight, but agreement has yet to be reached.
