On October 17 Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) may face George Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10 KOs) at the Sydney Stadium. These are the latest plans of the Triller Fight Club, which won a tender for this fight a few months ago, offering $6 million.

However, Lopez, who has the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC franchised belts, does not want to fight outside the United States. The American's manager claims that the boxer can leave the IBF belt vacant, which will save him from a fight against Kambosos, who is the official contender for the International Boxing Federation title.

The Lopez-Kambosos duel was originally scheduled for June 5th. The fight was postponed for two weeks due to the coincidence of dates with the fight of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul. Later, Lopez tested positive for coronavirus, so the organizers tentatively set a new date for August 14. Several big boxing evenings are planned for this day, which may lead to a new schedule change.
