Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about the organization's reigning bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling. Khabib noted that he would not like to become such a champion as Sterling.

“I would not want to be a champion like Sterling. I think he and his cornermen understand this too, but they somehow try to support him, I understand them. I would not want to be a champion who lost a fight, and my opponent broke the rules and I won the belt..." Nurmagomedov said.

Sterling became the champion after defeating Petr Yan by disqualification. The Russian delivered a forbidden knee blow, after which Sterling could not continue the fight. Many fighters, fans, experts believed that Aljamain was feigning in that episode.
