Minakov: Victory over Gane will make Volkov president

Former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Vitaly Minakov shared his expectations for the upcoming fight Ciryl Gane vs Alexander Volkov.

“A victory over Gane will not only bring him to the top 3, it will make him president. It all depends on Sasha, how competently he approaches the fight. He needs a very correct tactical plan. Gane hits those blows that Sasha likes to miss: hooks. And these blows are strong enough for him. Sasha has a better shot than Gane, so if he keeps Gane at a distance and uses his long kicks, then he has every chance of winning.

"Whether we will see Sasha in a title fight depends on him and on how he will work in the gym and improve his weaknesses. I hope he succeeds. He has every chance. He can win the title. There is simply no person in their division who is stronger than everyone else. Everyone can become a champion," Minakov said.

Gane vs Volkov headlines UFC Fight Night 190, which will take place on June 26 in Las Vegas.
