Charlo defeats Montiel on points

Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) defeated Juan Macias Montiel (22-5-2, 22 KOs) via unanimous decision in the Premier Boxing Champions main event in Houston. After twelve rounds, the judges scored it 120-108, 119-109 and 118-109 in favor of the American defending his WBC middleweight title.

The fight from the first round took place under the control of Charlo, who gained points, successfully attacked his opponent and was able to hurt him several times. Montiel, despite this, continued to go forward, and although several times he was close to stoppage, in the end he went the entire distance.
