UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira shared his expectations for a fight of Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor, which will determine his next opponent. These fighters will meet on July 10 at UFC 264.
“This will be a great fight. It doesn't matter to me who wins. Let's wait. They both are big names, both are punchers. I have to be careful and work on my skills. We know Conor sells more paid streams, he brings in a lot of business and all that glamor, but I've never performed just for money. Even now I will not betray my modesty and respect.
"Am I an underdog in potential fights with both? It makes me happy. Every time people said that I couldn't do something, I went out and argued that they were wrong. What matters is what you can do inside the octagon. Before the fight, the chances are 50 to 50, and the one who has the best strategy and is better prepared wins,” Oliveira said to MMA Fighting.
Oliveira won the vacant title on May 16 at UFC 262 by knocking out Michael Chandler in the second round.
