Garbrandt: I learned a lot from the defeat of Font

Former UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt made the announcement after being defeated by Rob Font on May 23 at UFC Fight Night 188.

“Rob was better this evening. I feel like I was fighting myself in a cage, but I don't want to belittle my opponent's merits. Congratulations to his team.

"I learned a lot from this defeat. The team and I are going to bounce back and come back. We are still striving to be the best and get to the championship title. Sometimes, on the way to your dream, difficulties arise that make you work even harder and make climbing to the top even more enjoyable.

"It was not my day, but I will correct my mistakes. I try to fight my best for you," Cody said during a live broadcast on Instagram.

Garbrandt has suffered four defeats in his last five fights.
