Romero's fight with Johnson is canceled

On May 7 at Bellator 258, Yoel Romero and Anthony Johnson were supposed to debut in the promotion. Their confrontation was to take place within the light heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinal. And today it became known that there would be no battle. The Cuban was unable to undergo a medical examination.

“Yoel Romero did not undergo a medical examination and as a result his debut in Bellator against Anthony Johnson was canceled. Anthony Johnson will have a fight with a substitute Grand Prix competitor in the near future,” said in the official statement of the promotion.

The winner of Romero vs Johnson pair was supposed to meet in the semifinals with Vadim Nemkov.
