Journalist Mike Coppinger announced that WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney (25-0, 15 KOs) will fight former three-weight world champion Jorge Linares (47-5 , 29 KOs). Earlier it was planned that the fight could take place two weeks earlier.
Haney's attention has focused on Javier Fortuna in recent weeks, however, it looks like the Dominican fighter may cross gloves with Ryan Garcia this spring. For Linares it will be a return to the ring after more than a year hiatus. The last time the Venezuelan fighter fought was in February last year.
Haney, 22, returned to the ring in December after shoulder surgery. The World Boxing Council belt holder defeated Yuriorkis Gamboa by unanimous decision to defend his title for the second time.
