Former dominant UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones will have his next fight for the heavyweight title. This was stated in an interview to TMZ by the president of the promotion Dana White.

“We know what Jones wants. He wants to face the winner of the fight of Miocic and Ngannou, so this fight should be next. This should happen this year. It all depends on whether the fight between Francis and Stipe takes place before the summer. In that case, we could arrange a fight between Jones and the champion in the summer,” White said.

The heavyweight title fight of Miocic and Ngannou will take place on March 27 at UFC 260. In the first bout, held in January 2018, Miocic confidently won by unanimous decision.

As for Jones, he has not appeared in the Octagon since last February, when he defeated Dominic Reyes on points in a difficult fight. A few months later, John left the title vacant due to disagreements with the UFC.
