Poirier: Let Oliveira and Chandler fight for the belt, I will step back

Former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier shared his thoughts on the current situation in the division.

“I am the uncrowned lightweight champion. If Khabib is out of the game, then I'm the best in the division. Former interim champion, former title contender. I just passed a former champion in two weight classes. I am a champion and I know that.

"I want to become a champion, but Oliveira has earned the place where he is now, no doubt about it. Let him and Chandler fight for the belt. If management wants Michael to fight for the title, then let them do it. I'll take a step back and just watch.

"Third fight with Conor? I don't know what they are talking about behind closed doors. Neither the UFC nor Conor's representatives contacted me about this," Poirier said in an interview with MMAJunkie.
