Interim World Boxing Association (WBA) Heavyweight Champion Trevor Bryan (21-0, 15 KOs) defeated former WBC champion Bermane Stiverne (25-5-1, 21 KOs) by TKO in the eleventh round to win the vacant "world" WBA title in the main event of the Don King night on Friday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
Bryan put pressure on Stiverne throughout the fight with powerful punches to the head, although Stiverne had his moments too. The end of the fight came when Bryan sent Stiverne to the floor twice in the eleventh round with right hands. Stiverne bravely tried to continue the fight, but the duel was soon stopped. The time was 1:26.
Bryan will now face WBA champion 'in recess' Mahmoud Charr within 120 days.
