Povetkin begins the stage of physical training

Alexander Povetkin (36-2-1, 25 KOs) started the stage of general physical training in Gelendzhik, Russia. This is the first stage of Sasha's preparation for a rematch against Dillian Whyte (27-2, 18 KOs).

For the first time Povetkin and Whyte met in the ring in August, when the Russian knocked out the favorite "Body Snatcher", taking away his interim WBC heavyweight belt.

The rematch was supposed to take place on November 21, but Povetkin fell ill with Covid-19, and the fight was canceled. The announcement of a new date for the bout (probably March 6) will take place in the coming days.
