The 2013 world amateur boxing champion Zhanibek Alimkhanuly (9-0, 5 KOs) knocks harder and harder on the professional boxing gates in the middleweight division. Yesterday, at the Top Rank boxing night in the Navarrete vs Villa undercard in Las Vegas, the Kazakh effectively dealt with the Argentinean Gonzalo Coria (16-4, 6 KOs), when he inflicted his first stoppage defeat in his career.

The left counter strike of the Kazakh knocked Corea down a minute before the bell in the first round. The Argentinean managed to recover, but he could not bring the fight to the final bell that day. Alimkhanuly finished his work in the second round: he prepared the opponent with his right hand and struck a left hook, hitting the jaw. Corea fell facedown on the floor and didn't even think about getting up quickly. The referee counted to six and stopped the fight.
