Hearn: Fury vs Wilder this year or Fury is fighting Whyte

Dillian Whyte's promoter (27-1, 18 KOs) Eddie Hearn supported the position of Mauricio Suleiman, who stated that if the third fight of the WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) against Deontay Wilder (42-1 -1, 41 KOs) will be postponed to the beginning of next year, then the champion will have to carry out a mandatory title defense against the Body Snatcher first.

It is worth adding that the head of the World Boxing Council, clarifying the situation with the top of the royal division, suggested that Fury-Wilder trilogy could end in December, but this, however, seems less and less real. In this scenario, Hearn intends to seek a solution in which Wilder will give a shot to Whyte.

“As far as I understand, the Fury-Wilder fight was supposed to take place this year, and if that doesn't happen, then we are ready for Whyte vs. Fury,” Matchroom Boxing boss told Sky Sports.

Meanwhile, on August 22, Dillian Whyte still has to fight the dangerous Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs). At the stake in the fight will be the temporary WBC belt of the British.
