According to the latest unofficial information, Gennady Golovkin (40-1-1, 35 KOs) will have his next fight in early October against the unbeaten Polish challenger Kamil Szeremeta (21-0, 5 KOs), but there is no official news on this yet.

Eddie Hearn, who recently became Golovkin's promoter, said that the boxer from Kazakhstan is one of those athletes who are in no hurry to return to the ring, as they wait for the fans to return to the stands. American promoters hope that this will be given the green light in the coming weeks.

“There are several big names, including Golovkin, who understand that they will have only one fight this year. They are waiting for the fans to come back because it will be of great financial importance to them,” explained Hearn.

The fight against Szeremeta will become a mandatory defense of the IBF middleweight title for Golovkin. Golovkin won this belt last October at an evening in New York, defeating Sergiy Derevyanchenko. As part of the same evening, Szeremeta also had his last fight, he knocked out Oscar Cortez of Mexico. The duel of Golovkin and Szeremeta in the USA will be shown on the DAZN platform.
