A promising heavyweight confrontation of Alexander Usik (17-0, 13 KOs) and Derek Chisora (32-9, 23 KOs) should take place in October. The manager David Haye announced this in his interview to Sky Sports.
The fight of the former undisputed cruiserweight champion with the former contender for the WBC heavyweight belt was originally scheduled for May 23, but the meeting was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Usyk, who previously won all of the cruiserweight titles, made his heavyweight debut last October with a TKO victory over Chazz Witherspoon. However the meeting with Chisora will be a much more difficult task for the Ukrainian.
At stake is the Usyk-Chisora confrontation there will be the status of a mandatory contender for the WBO belt, which currently belongs to Anthony Joshua.
