The fight on August 29 in Las Vegas of Jose Carlos Ramirez (25-0, 17 KOs) and Victor Postol (31-2, 12 KOs) was officially confirmed. This meeting was originally scheduled to take place on February 1 in China, but has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The fight was later scheduled for May 9 in the United States, but the date had to be changed for the second time. The fight in August like other Top Rank events in the near future, will have no spectators. Ramirez currently owns the WBO and WBC super lightweight belts. Postol is the official contender for the World Boxing Council title.

It has also been confirmed that the fight of Eleider Alvarez (25-1, 13 KOs) and Joe Smith Jr. (25-3, 20 KOs) will be postponed until August 29. The duel is part of the qualifying tournament for the vacant WBO light heavyweight title.

Initially, such a battle was supposed to take place at the turn of May and June, and then on July 16. The coronavirus pandemic added to the expectations of the upcoming confrontation of the Colombian and the American, and it was later revealed that Alvarez had shoulder injury.
