Verdejo and Anderson's quick wins in Las Vegas
Felix Verdejo (27-1, 17 KOs) scored a KO win in round one over previously undefeated Will Madera (15-1-3, 8 KOs) in the Top Rank boxing evening in Las Vegas. The duel officially ended one second before the end of the starting round.
On the last seconds of the first round, Verdejo pounced on the opponent and delivered several strong right hands. Madera was hurt and rested his back on the ropes waiting for a break between rounds. The Puerto Rican, however, did not want to let go the opponent of and sent him to the floor with an accurate right hook, after which Madera could not get up.
For 27-year-old Verdejo, whose career stalled in 2018, this was his second win this year.
Also this evening heavyweight contender Jared Anderson (5-0, 5 KOs) scored a quick win over Hector Perez (7-3, 3 KOs) in the first round. The 20-year-old boxer ended the fight with a right hand, after which his opponent landed on his knees and did not want to get up. It was the third win for the American "Big Baby" this year.
