Ivaylo Gotzev, the manager of Kubrat Pulev (28-1, 14 KOs), would like to finish negotiations on the fight of his fighter against WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (23-1-1, 21 KOs) as soon as possible.
The duel was originally planned for June 20 in London, but after the outbreak of the coronavirus, the meeting was canceled. A search for a new venue for a championship fight outside the UK is currently underway.
“We gave ourselves four weeks to look for options. Eddie Hearn looked at the Middle East, that would be a great solution. The countries of this region were less affected by the epidemic, and with proper precautions we would have a safe environment,” Gotzev said. “I would like to emphasize that safety is the most important thing, we don’t want to risk anybody’s health.”
“If we find a reasonable place with better conditions than those in which we live, we can fly there. We still have three weeks to choose, let's see which one will suit us better!” the manager of the IBF mandatory challenger added.
