Frank Warren, the promoter of Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KOs) commented on the controversial statement by Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KOs), who recently said that he did not consider the “Gypsy King” as a true world champion, despite his victory in February, because "he was not himself."

“Wilder has to turn on TV and watch this fight again. Fury is the champion, period!" said Warren. "Everyone is looking for excuses after failure. Before the fight, Wilder said he was in the best shape of his life. This was not their first joint round, but the thirteenth. Tyson missed a few strong punches from him, but he withstood them and then dominated.”

“Fury did not steal this title from him, he entered the ring and destroyed him. He defeated him in every second of the fight, he did it very convincingly. It was one of the best British performances abroad. Fury took Wilder to school!” Fury's promoter added.

Under the contract for the February bout, Wilder and Fury must meet for the third time. The fight will take place no earlier than this fall.
