The British Boxing Commission has announced that it will lift the ban on sporting events in the UK in June. However, first such events will be organized without the participation of spectators.

“We hope that we will be able to return to boxing in early June, at the latest at the end of the month. Of course, at first they will be closed to viewers. We need to find out from doctors if they will be available to support our tournaments,” Robert Smith said, the Secretary General of the British Commission.

“We may have to limit the number of spectators at the events for some time, so by the end of the year there may be a need to abandon large arenas,” Smith added.

In July the battle of Dillian Whyte with Alexander Povetkin is planned in the UK. They will fight for the title of interim WBC heavyweight champion.
