Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs) is looking forward to returning to the ring. On July 4 WBC interim heavyweight champion is about to cross his gloves with Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs).
The duel was originally supposed to take place in early May, but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Briton hopes that the new date for the meeting will not change.
“Training in such conditions is not easy, but we must bear in mind that the date of the battle may change again. Nevertheless, I am doing my best to be in good shape on July 4,” said Whyte, who won a difficult victory over Mariusz Wach in December.
“It was not my best fight. Then I had a lot of thoughts, I felt that I was unfairly accused of what I did not do. Everything in your head turns into a battle. In the ring with Povetkin I will be completely different than with Wach,” Whyte said.
