Floyd Mayweather (50-0, 27 KOs) announced he would not return to the ring this year. The American's decision is due to the dramatic events of recent weeks in his family.

A few days ago Roger Mayweather has died, the uncle and longtime trainer of the former world champion in five weight categories. Josie Harris, the mother of three children of the highest paid athlete in the history of professional boxing, died a few days earlier.

In recent months Mayweather held talks about his return to the ring, including the possible rematch against Manny Pacquiao and a fight against UFC star Khabib Nurmagomedov. However, negotiations on these issues have been suspended.

In his last official fight Mayweather defeated UFC star Conor McGregor by TKO. Later he participated in the exhibition fight against Tenshin Nasukawa.
