Former WBC light heavyweight champion Alexander Gvozdyk (17-1, 14 KOs) announced his desire to face Arthur Beterbiev (15-0, 15 KOs) in a rematch. In October 2019 in Philadelphia, Gvozdyk lost to the Russian by knockout in the 10th round and lost his WBC belt, although at the time of the stoppage he was leading on points.
“I'm angry, I'm hungry, I don’t get out of the gym. I want to go in the ring, but they still don’t let me in. However, this situation is not only mine, but everyone’s, so we’ll wait. I’m only moving forward and take revenge over Beterbiev that I want to do most. I respect him, he’s a great champion, but I want to meet him again," Gvozdyk said.
