Alvarez and Saunders agree on fight

Billy Joe Saunders (29-0, 14 KOs) and Saul Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) have agreed on the terms of the contract for their fight, which may take place on May 2 in Las Vegas. Official confirmation of the duel is expected on this week.

Earlier it was reported that the Englishman will earn at least $8 million for this fight. The last two rivals of the Mexican earned more than $10 million for their performances.

WBO super middleweight title, owned by Saunders, will be at stake in the fight. For Canelo it will be the second fight in this weight category.

In his last fight Alvarez knocked Sergey Kovalev out and acquired a belt in his fourth weight category. Saunders last fought in November, defeating Marcelo Coceres by knockout.
