Whyte vs Povetkin for interim and diamond WBC titles?

Mauricio Sulaiman, the head of the World Boxing Council in an interview to Boxing Social confirmed that Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs) and Dillian White (27-1, 18 KOs) could battle the WBC Diamond Heavyweight title.

WBC interim belt will definitely be at the stake is the duel scheduled for May 2 in Manchester. The Body Snatcher won this title in July, defeating Oscar Rivas.

Suleiman also said that Whyte, in spite of the opinions that he and his promoters expressed was not the mandatory challenger for the WBC title until he won it in the fight against Rivas but only the leader of the ratings.
