The date of the next fight of Saul Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KOs) should be formally confirmed in the nearest future. Canelo has recently attempted to organize a fight against Ryota Murata, but talks on the matter were unsuccessful.

The bout was scheduled for the second half of May in Japan. Now Canelo's appearance in the ring is likely to be pushed until late May in the United States, and the talks about his next fight is not conducive because of the ongoing conflict with Oscar de la Hoya, who is the promoter of 29-year-old Mexican.

Alvarez talks to the leader of Golden Boy Promotions only through lawyers. The Mexican is unhappy with the way De La Hoya manages his career, and has no direct contact with him.

Billy Joe Saunders and Callum Smith are now mentioned among the potential opponents for Canelo. It is the Mexican in the end who will choose his next opponent. His decision should be approved by DAZN stream platform, with which Alvarez has signed a contract for more than $350 million.
