Andrew Ryabinsky, the promoter of Alexander Povetkin (35-2-1, 24 KOs) has declared readiness of his fighter to hold a fight against Dillian Whyte (27-1, 18 KOs).
In December Povetkin fought for a status of the official contender for the WBA heavyweight title, but his eliminator against Michael Hunter (18-1-1, 12 KOs) was declared a draw. There was a question of a rematch, but the Russian promoter prefers to send the Olympic champion of Athens 2004 to England. Whyte is the mandatory challenger for the WBC belt.
"We would like to have a rematch against Hunter, but first Sasha will meet Dillian Whyte. So Whyte first and then Hunter," Ryabinsky said.
