Time for Joshua negotiating with Usyk and Pulev is ending
In a few days a deadline comes, when the team of Anthony Joshua (23-1, 21 KOs) must agree on the organization of fights with Oleksandr Usyk and Kubrat Pulev. The Ukrainian is the official challenger for the WBO heavyweight title, while the Bulgarian is the official challenger for IBF.
Both sanctioning organization immediately after the December rematch of Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jr. sent an official letters to the United Kingdom with a request to begin negotiations with Usyk and Pulev. The British team got 30 days to negotiate, which means that this period will end soon.
If by the time the formal agreements are not sent to the organizations, they will assign purse bids. Then Joshua would almost certainly have to vacate one of his belts.
Most likely, in May in London Joshua will defend his IBF belt in a fight against Pulev, and leave WBO title vacant. Then, in March Usyk will compete for it against Dereck Chisora and the winner will have to fight Joseph Parker. All the above boxers are connected with promotional organization of Matchroom Boxing.
