On Saturday WBO obliged Mairis Briedis (26-1, 18 KOs) to give a rematch to Krzysztof Głowacki (31-2, 19 KOs). Raymond Zeps, a boxer's manager from Latvia said that it remains a priority for Briedis to participated in the final of the World Boxing Super Series tournament, and a fight with the Pole is in the second place.

The team of Briedis believes that WBO made right decision, because the federation did not change the outcome of his fight. It seems that Briedis may vacate the title of World Boxing Organization, which in June he won in a controversial fight against Glowacki.

«WBO decision does not affect WBSS final. Briedis will meet in the final of the tournament with Yunier Dorticos, and we are focused on this meeting. Briedis has been long preparing for this fight," said Zeps.

"Głowacki needs to make a decision right now. WBO wants a rematch with Briedis, but it is not known if he was fighting for the WBC belt against Ilunga Makabu. We have to wait. WBSS final will be for Briedis the most important fight of his career, WBO decision does not change our plans," said the manager of Briedis.

It is still unknown when Briedis fight Dorticos in WBSS final. According to the Latvian media, the fight could take place in January in Moscow, Riga or Saudi Arabia.
