Back in August, it became known that Magomedrasul Majidov, three-time Olympic Heavyweight champion in amateurs (2011, 2013, 2017), decided to start a professional career. The debut of 32-year-old Majidov is scheduled for next Friday in New York on the undercard of the fight Devin Haney against Zaur Abdullaev. His opponent will be a solid, for the debut, Ed Fountain (12-6, 5 KOs).

Eight years ago, the famous Azerbaijani puncher defeated Anthony Joshua at the World Cup final. A year later he won the bronze medal of the London Olympics, losing to defending champion Roberto Cammarelle. AJ then took the gold at the home tournament. Majidov promises that professional boxing is his way to once again meet with Joshua.

In August Majidov signed with Boxing Stars Management. Promotional Organization Matchroom Boxing will also deal his career.

"I am looking forward to my fight in New York, where all the great champions fought. I will give a clear message to others not to look at my birth certificate and age. With my style of boxing I'm ready to give fans good fights," promised Majidov.
