Poirier: If I defeat Khabib, I'll become the best lightweight

Interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier is sure that a victory over Khabib Nurmagomedov will write his name in the history of MMA forever.

"If I defeat Khabib, I'll become the best lightweight in MMA history. The best lightweight who ever wore 4 ounces gloves. Everything is simple and clear. I believe in this," said Poirier.

The duel between Poirier and Nurmagomedov will headline UFC 242 on September 7 in Abu Dhabi.
