Boxingscene.com with the reference on independent sources informs that, one of the anti-doping tests, which Dillian Whyte (26-1, 18 KOs) took on Saturday before the fight with Oscar Rivas (26-1, 18 KOs) gave a positive result.
It is unknown yet what exactly is the specificity (or specificities), but the result of the doping tests has been known since June 17, and it was handed over only to the organizers of the fight, Whyte's promoter, Matchroom Boxing, and the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC).
The study was conducted by the UK Anti-Doping (UKAD). If the control was carried out by an independent agency VADA, the result would go to WBC and team Rivas. UKAD was not obliged to do so, and BBBofC after studying the case, decided that the duel for the interim WBC heavyweight title and mandatory challenger status will be held in accordance with the plan.
If information on Whyte's doping is confirmed, it will be the second such case in his professional career. In 2012 «The Body Snatcher» was disqualified after the discovery of DMAA in his analysis. Although this substance is present in some foods that are available in stores, it is on the list of banned.
