PBC: Ruiz has only two belts in the heavyweights

Despite the fact that in June Andy Ruiz Jr. (33-1, 22 KOs) defeated Anthony Joshua (22-1, 21 KOs) and became the owner of three championship belts, according to the Prime Boxing Champions (PBC), the Mexican possess only two titles now.

During Saturday's broadcast of Manny Pacquiao vs. Keith Thurman fight Ruiz he was subtitled as the champion of WBA and IBF, and not listed as WBO champion - and it was not just a mistake in the graphics.

According to Mike Coppinger, who's working among others in The Ring magazine, Al Haymon the head of PBC  deliberately downplays the World Boxing Organization, accusing the organization in loyalty to Frank Warren and Top Rank, which are competitors to PBC. "Prohibition" of WBO allows him to reduce the gains of Terence Crawford, the world champion of Top Rank in the welterweight division which is "the main category" of PBC.
