Whyte beats Rivas on points

In the main event of the evening in London Dillian Whyte (26-1, 18 KOs) scored a unanimous decision victory over previously undefeated Oscar Rivas (26-1, 18 KOs) and captured vacant WBC interim heavyweight belt and became an official challenger for the meeting with Deontay Wilder. The scored were: 115-112, 115-112, 116-111.

In the second round, Whyte was able to significantly hurt Rivas, but Rivas was able to stay on his feet. In the ninth round, Whyte went on the floor after a hard uppercut. Despite the heavy blow missed, Whyte was able to recover and controlled the course of the meeting until the final bell.
